The ONU Women's Soccer team wasted no time in getting the 2009 season underway as they beat the visiting team from Defiance College 7-0. Seniors Angie Pisut and Jamie Eiben led the way, scoring two goals a piece in the season opener in Ada. Also tallying goals were Sophomore Kim McGowan, Freshman Maddie White and Freshman Alicia Palivoda. It was a great opening performance and a solid defencive effort, only allowing three shots for 90 minutes, allowing zero in the second half.
"What a great way to get the 2009 season started. It was a great team performance. I'm very please with our progress so far. This weekend will be a true test of our ability and character" said Head Coach Mark Batman.
ONU hosts the ONU Classic this weekend. Participating teams are Calvin (MI), Kalamazoo (MI), and Otterbein College. Game times are at 1p and 4p on Friday and Saturday, with ONU playing both games at 4p. Thanks to all who came to support and we look forward to a fun season!
