On a muggy night in Berea, OH, the Polar Bears faced a tough Baldwin Wallace College soccer team. ONU put the pressure on early creating some very good scoring chances while not allowing the home team to gain any momentum. Alyssa Merrick was able to finally break down the BW defense and find Kaitlin Sanders for the only goal of the match. Sanders, who leads the team in assists, finally got a goal of her own as it proved to be a very important one. ONU maintained the pressure and didn't allow BW to create any real scoring chances. Kristen Dewees notched her first shutout of her college career with the help of a strong defensive line in front of her. The team only allowed 5 shots for the duration of the match with zero corners. ONU outshot BW 18-5 and led the advantage in corners with 9-0.
ONU is back in action this Saturday at 2p as they host John Carroll University for Homecoming and Senior Day. ONU is now 9-4-1 overall and 3-1 in the conference. With 5 games left to play, ONU is in control of their own destiny and is looking for their 2nd conference championship. Thanks to all that could make the game last night, your support is greatly appreciated. See you all Saturday as we take on John Carroll.
