ONU Women Claim All Sports Crown

It's a great year to be a Polar Bear! The ONU Women have reclaimed the OAC All Sports trophy. For their hard work and success, the Polar Bear women came out on top of the OAC in what was a very competitive 2011-2012 athletics year. The men placed second in the All Sports standings and narrowly missed a first place finish by less than 2 points. This is the 9th time overall and the 5th time in 6 years that the ONU women have received the honor. This year women's cross country, soccer, swimming, tennis, and softball all took home conference championships for the Polar Bears. Further demonstrating the overall strength of our men's and women's teams, 11 out of 19 programs participated in NCAA competitions including M/W soccer, M/W cross country, M/W indoor track, wrestling, M/W outdoor track, women's tennis, and softball. In a sports year that saw multiple All Americans, multiple Academic All Americans, a national champion, and a world series softball team, the 2011-2012 sports year belonged to the Polar Bears! Our athletes continue to make us proud with their accomplishments as students and as athletes. Congratulations to all Polar Bears!!
