The girls enjoyed this little break and were ready to continue practicing hard. After a few more days of training the team took a break and headed to Urbana to have a day on the river at Birch Bark Canoe Livery. We traveled on Mad River for a five mile canoe ride. Equipped with paddles, lifejackets, and not very much skill we were on our way. We were informed that the deepest the river got was 8 feet, but for the most part it was pretty shallow. Even though the most dangerous part of the trip was a 10 inch “waterfall” drop, the girls were still afraid to tip over since the water was a crisp 58 degrees. A few girls went in circles, a few canoes went into the riverbank, but we all made it safely back in less than two hours. After the trip, we headed to Yellow Springs and went to Young’s Dairy for some good food and homemade ice cream. We stayed there for about an hour, fed some goats and saw other farm animals. It was a lot of fun and allowed us to get closer as a team and share some laughs before getting back to work and preparing for the season. We are getting ready to beat the old grandmas at the alumni game. Hope to see you all there!

Week 1 of Pre-season
Preseason began when we moved in on Monday August 17th and spent time unpacking and getting to know each other better. Tuesday was full of meetings, physicals and more meetings. The rest of the week was spent fitness testing, technical testing and playing hard. After three days of three-a-days everyone got a much deserved fun practice when Coach Batman let the girls play soccer baseball.
