The Polar Bears wasted no time in getting the conference season underway as they scored 5 unanswered goals against a tough Muskingum College Friday afternoon in New Concord, OH. ONU got off to an early lead just two minutes into the game as Senior Erin Stapp took a pass from Junior Kaitlin Sanders and snuck it past the Musky goal keeper from 18 yards out. ONU then managed to get two more additional goals in the next six minutes to get a commanding 3-0 lead. Junior Angie Pisut scored off a cross to make the score 2-1. Erin Stapp poked in her second goal of the match from a Chelsea Albert header off a corner kick and Senior Katie Schaadt notched her first career goal on a corner kick from Kaitlin Sanders. Katie Kinkelaar finalized the scoring in the 2nd half as the game ended 5-0.
It was a great start to conference play for ONU. Muskingum is never an easy opponent, especially at their field.
The Polar Bears are back in action this Tuesday when they play Capital University at 4p. Over the years, this game has proven to be a great game to watch and always brings excitement, emotion, and great soccer. Thanks to all who made the trip to New Concord and hope to see you Tuesday! GO BEARS!
