ONU Suffers Third Loss of the Season
On a chilly evening in Granville, OH, the Polar Bears suffered their third loss of the season to NCAC rival Denison University. The first half ended in a 0-0 tie, with both teams creating some decent scoring opportunities. Denison broke the tie midway through the 2nd half and got the game winning goal just moments later. Alyssa Merrick struck for the Polar Bears with just a few minutes to go in the match, but ONU couldn't muster another goal. The match ended 2-1 leaving ONU at 4-3-1 for the season. Denison came into the match at #25 in the latest NSCAA coach's poll. Two of the Polar Bear's three losses were to teams in the top 3 of the region and top 25 in the national polls. ONU is set to take on Case Western Reserve on Saturday at 2p in Ada and finishes their non conference schedule with a mid week match vs Defiance at home on Wednesday at 4p.
