2011 Season Preview!

Our 2011 preseason will kick off next week with 24 players returning along with 7 new faces joining the Polar Bear family. Preseason is always a great opportunity for the team to come together before the school year begins. We are looking forward to getting everyone back on campus to prepare for the long season ahead! Once preseason wraps up, our first test will come on September 1st as we host NCAC champions the College of Wooster. Throughout September we will play some of the best teams in our region in order to prepare us for another run at the Ohio Athletic Conference championship in October. We are also making a trip in September to the east coast to take on NYU and Stevens Institute of Technology at the Engineering Cup in Hoboken, NJ. Our September schedule is one of the toughest in the region and should make for some competitive and exciting ONU Women’s soccer highlights!

Once October hits, we begin to turn our focus on our conference opponents. With a conference championship in mind every year we look forward to beginning the OAC schedule this year with Muskingum College. There is a ton of history and emotion built up in every OAC match up and we look forward to each game every season. Our regular season wraps up at the end of October with Marietta College in Marietta, OH. Our group has high expectations and look to make their fifth consecutive appearance in the OAC Tournament Final. We have a very promising, determined and hungry group who are excited and eager to make their mark on our conference, regional and national opponents. Check out the ONU webpage for the season calendar (http://www.onu.edu/athletics/wsoccer )and all Women's Soccer updates! We hope to see you along the way of what will be an exciting season of Polar Bear soccer!
