ONU Suffers 2nd Loss of the Season

Denison University came to Ada to play the #23 ranked Polar Bears Wednesday evening at 5p. It was a hard fought game between the two non conference rivals. Denison capitalized on an opportunity in the final minute of the first half, just after Junior Tri-Captain Chelsea Albert smashed a shot off the DU crossbar, making the score 1-0 at the break. ONU regrouped and created some fantastic scoring chances in the second half. ONU's Sophomore GK Kristen Dewees came up huge for the Polar Bears in the second half, stoning the Denison attack with some fantastic saves, keeping ONU in the game. "The team played hard, and played well; we just didn't play well enough to win today", said Head Coach Mark Batman. "We've had a very successful September (6-2-2) and the reason we play the best teams in our region is to prepare us for October and the OAC. We'll learn from this game and put it behind us with the hopes we can see Denison again in November in the NCAA's. Our main focus right now is the OAC and taking each of those games one at a time."

ONU opens conference play this Saturday at 2p when they host Muskingum College. Thanks to all the Polar Bear fans who have supported our team throughout September! We'll see you in October!
