Cardinals Down Polar Bears In Westerville

The Otterbein Cardinals struck early and didn't look back as they went on for a 3-1 victory Saturday afternoon in Westerville, OH. Otterbein got off to an early lead just moments into the game from a scrappy goal off a corner kick. ONU then answered back, gaining a goal of their own to make it 1-1. Otterbein got the lead back off a hard earned opportunity in the box and took the 2-1 lead into the half. Otterbein got their third goal midway through the second half and the game ended 3-1.
ONU is now 11-5-1 overall and 5-2 in the OAC. Otterbein jumps above ONU in the conference standings with a 5-1-1 record. Both teams have huge games this upcoming week and conference championship hopes are still alive for the Polar Bears. ONU hosts Wilmington College Wednesday afternoon in Ada at 4p. Wilmington comes in as the top OAC team with a 6-1 conference record. If ONU wins the next 2 matches, they will at least clinch 2nd place in the conference, giving them the first round bye going into the conference tournament. ONU will look to get one step closer to that dream this Wednesday as they face a very good Wilmington College team.
